Ocean waves.
Collaboration of wind and water.
They can appear in so many forms.
Sometimes they are loud and strong, sometimes they are quiet and gentle…
Just like the waves of our emotions. The wind in our heart rages, she ruffles giant waves inside us. When she is calm, we feel a gentle flow in our body, just like we are floating on water.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could jump and rage, run on the endless ocean just like the wind, leave our stress behind, and spread our emotions across the horizon?
So we could be free of them. Just floating.
And when we are ready, we can embrace all our emotions again, just like the gentle waves reach the shore.
Waves can be heavy, pulling us under the water. But when we can get on them, they can make us float, make us feel weightless.
We can’t get rid of our emotions, just like the ocean can not be separated from the wind.
Let’s feel it. Let’s welcome all our emotions, let them wave through us, carry us or weigh us down. And when the storm is over, we can enjoy the gentle flow and the soothing voice of the waves.
These thoughts inspire my new ocean themed painting series.
I also displayed some older ocean sketches. There are 3 sketch I made at Depot Island^^ I wonder if you can find them^^
I create paintings of the characters I meet in nature. Their characteristics often appear as their hair. Like the waves of the ocean, petals of a flower, or leaves of a tree.
When I created the acrylic painting“Feel the Wave”, I decided to bleach my hair in order to use it as a brush. I wanted to use my hair, “to paint the hair of the ocean”.
“If I could became one with the ocean, one with the waves, just for a few seconds…” so I used my body as a brush, and moved like the waves while painting them.
The purpose of my art is to express the feelings of the Wind and the Ocean. I wonder if you can feel the emotion of the Wind, when you look at the painting “Feel the Wave”.
On the second week of the exhibition, I had to change the display.My new wave painting was too big for the wall, it drew the attention from the little paintings… So I replaced it with a smaller, short haired wave painting.Which is ironic…Because the same thing happened with my real hairXDAfter I bleached it and used it as a brush to try and paint that huge wave painting, I had to cut it off!“Replace it with a short wave😁”Change seems unconfortable, and it comes with some extra work and effort… but you will feel lighter after it^^ and your display wall will look more balanced😅✨Don’t worry! You can still find my big Wave painting, behind the register^^ so much better place for it!

I divided them into three themes: flowers, ocean and FALL colors!!!
I miss the fall! So I got my old fall illustrations, and made some new stickres, and this adorable totebag!
