首里 Cafe Roots
When your heart goes empty, how do you refill it?
I like to refill my heart with the colors of the nature, when I go outside to paint flowers, fruits and trees, or the ocean.
The little sketches are like conversations with the nature.
I fill my heart up with the stories I hear from the flowers and the wind, and I cherish the new friends I make every time, when I go out to paint.
I would like to present some of those friends here on this exhibition at Shuri Cafe Roots, where you can literally refill your empty cup with delicious drinks, made of the fruits of Okinawa!
This cafe is such an inspiring place for me! Why is that? Because my fruit buddies literally jump out of the smoothies and juices!!!
In order to create the poster illustrations, I made sketches while drinking the smoothies! Feeling the vivid tastes, watching the whipping cream melt... I could see my fruit buddies climbing out of my drinks!
My favourites are the Dragonfruit Shekwasha Smoothie and the Choko Banana Juice.
Inspired by this cafe, I decided it is time to for me to get to know more fruits of the island and reach out to some strawberry and passionfruit farms!

This is a perfect place for me to gather my fruit paintings: shekwasha, dragonfruit, banana, peach, and my old strawberry cut illustration^^ I found place for my shell ginger series as well^^
You can find old trasured paintings here, watercolor and oil paintings of my ice cream buddies^^ I love to find the oppurtunity to present old and fun paintings like them:)
Also I found some place for the star of this season of course: the winter cherry blossom! We have a sakura corner, and I scattered some other flower paintings of the season, like cosmos and ume blossom.
I hope you will stop by! Come in and
Refill your cup with a refreshing smoothie,
Refill your heart with some colorful art that rooted from the nature of Okinawa.
